The QA team at Build a Rocket Boy Games is expanding! We’re looking for an exceptional QA Lead to come join us here in our newly refurbished Edinburgh office. As a member of the QA Team, you’ll be working closely with the wider development team ensuring the project quality standards are upheld. Our ideal candidate will be a creative leader with experience in building quality-focused teams and delivering world-class products. 

The successful candidate will have a positive outlook, and a professional manner. They will possess the ability to focus on tasks whilst being agile. A genuine passion for the video games industry is a must, as well as experience of playing a diverse range of game genres in a variety of formats.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with QA leadership to ensure all areas of the game are tested to a high standard.
• Prepare detailed test plans and test plans based on stakeholder requirements.
• Provide personal support, mentoring and professional development to the QA team.
• Proactively evaluate your team's performance and workload and make decisions on how to improve and support them. 
• Continually evaluate the process and propose improvements to the broader development team.
• Be a point of contact for QA communication across the studios.
• Liaise with external testing resources and coordinate the work between shifts.
• Autonomously make decisions and adapt to arising situations.
• Triage and manage defects, proactively working with the development team towards resolving critical issues.
• Create, monitor, and control metrics impacting product and team quality. 

Requirements 

• Demonstrable experience in leading and building high-performing teams.
• In-depth knowledge of game testing methodologies.
• Proficient with Jira or similar bug-tracking databases.
• Proficient with perforce or similar source control solutions.
• Technically proficient and able to learn new systems quickly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and comfortable collaborating with multiple disciplines.
• Proactive mindset.
• Love playing games with interests in many different genres and a passion for developing high-quality experiences.
